DIY Gemstone Soap

Hello! Today we're making DIY gemstone soap. You will need:

  • 1 cup of clear soap base
  • 1 cup of white soap base
  • food or soap coloring
  • essential oils of your choice (I used lavender oil)
  • non-serrated knife
  • heat safe containers
  • silicone mold (I used an ice cube tray)

In a microwave-safe container, add in 1/2 cup of white soap base. Heat the soap in the microwave in 30-second increments until melted.

Put the soap in 4 different containers.

Stir in 1-2 drops of your food coloring.

Repeat the melting and coloring process with the white soap base.

Once you have everything in separate containers, let the soap harden for at least 1 hour, or in the freezer for 15 minutes.

When the soap has hardened, take each color out of the container and cut it into small, random shapes.

Now, put the soap pieces into the mold. Don't press the pieces down into the mold, just let them fall naturally.

Melt 1/2 cup of clear soap base as well as 1/2 cup of white soap base. First, pour the clear soap on top of the small pieces halfway to the top.

Then before the soap has hardened, quickly pour the white soap over until the mold is full.

Let that harden for 1 hour at room temperature or 15 minutes in the freezer. After that, it's time to make the gemstone effect! To achieve this, cut the soap at different angles until you are satisfied with the look.

And you're done! This is how mine turned out:

This DIY was super fun to make. Although it did take some patience while waiting for the soap to dry, the end result was worth it. I really hope you try this out sometime!

Until next week,
