- 3 large apples, or 1 1/4 pounds of chopped fruit
- 3/4 cup of sugar (I used 1/2 teaspoon of stevia)
- 2 tablespoons of lemon juice
- Blender
- Pot or pan
- Baking sheet
- Parchment Paper
- Scissors
First, preheat your oven to 200° F. Then put all of your ingredients into the blender.
Blend the ingredients until pureed.
After that, transfer your puree into a pan on high heat until simmering. When simmered, turn the heat down to medium until the puree is very thick. Mine took about 20 minutes.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, and spread the puree out into an even layer.
Put your baking sheet into the oven for 3 and a half hours.
After that, take it out of the oven. Let it cool until you can handle the temperature. It should be a bit tacky, but also pliable.
Cut the puree into strips with some scissors, and roll them up.
And you're done! This is how mine turned out:
This DIY was fairly easy, but so time consuming. It's a great way to use overripe fruit, and it makes a good healthy snack. I hope you try this out sometime. Enjoy!
Until next week,
