DIY Woven Coasters

Hello! Today we're making DIY woven coasters. You will need:

  • Yarn
  • Any size piece of cardboard
  • Scissors
  • Needle

First, cut your piece of cardboard. The bigger the cardboard, the bigger the coaster.

Then, measure out about twice your arm's length, cut it, and thread it through the needle.

Then, cut the cardboard about 1/2 inch apart on both sides.

After that, take your bundle of yarn that is not cut and feed it through the slit on the right.

Flip the cardboard over, and put the yarn through the slits like this:

Cut the yarn and turn the cardboard over. Tie the two pieces of yarn together.

Take the long, cut piece of yarn and tie a knot at the very end. Start weaving it through the vertical pieces of yarn, going over and under.

When you have woven the yarn all the way to the top, cut off the excess. Tie a knot at the end of the vertical yarn.

Now that everything is tied in place, turn the cardboard over and cut the strings through the middle.

Make sure the strings are even, and you're done! This is how mine turned out:

This DIY was super easy to make. I like the texture of the coaster. It took a while to make, but it was worth it. You should try this one out!

Until next week,
